1. Reliance Jio announces free ICC Cricket World Cup match streaming - The Indian Cricket team is expected to begin its ICC Cricket World Cup campaign against South Africa on 5 June and while the fever grips the nation, Reliance Jio's just made an incredible announcement for users. All Jio users will be able to stream every World Cup match live, without having to shell out an extra penny. Users can choose to watch the matches live on either JioTV or Hotstar. What this essentially means is that the telecom operator is willing to pass on benefits worth Rs 365 that users would otherwise have to pay for watching the world cup matches live and free.


2. Black Shark 2 to start selling on Flipkart - Gaming smartphones are slowly catching up in India with the rise of games such as PUBG: Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile, and Xiaomi, the market leader in India doesn't want to be left out. Black Shark, a company in which Xiaomi is invested in, had announced the Black Shark 2 smartphone earlier last month and the device is now going to go on sale for the first time in India today.


3. Paytm will launch SIM-card enabled Soundbox to allow app-less transactions - Paytm is now synonymous with digital transactions in India. The fintech app rose to popularity during the demonetisation phase in 2016 and since then, it has grown into becoming a full-fledged digital payments bank along with offering a host of services to merchants, consumers and more. For instance, the company integrated BHIM UPI in its platform as another way of paying for things via Paytm. Then there’s the postpaid service called Paytm Money which allows you to borrow funds from the company to buy groceries, order food, etc. However, the system of digital payments is still far from perfect.


4. Google Maps now shows live train running status - Google has been actively updating and adding new features for Google Maps in India. It recently added a feature that enables users to report a ‘slowdown’ on Indian roads. The company has now announced three new features for Google Maps users in India, which are aimed at commuters and people who use public transportation as their main mode of transportation. Google Maps will now show live train status for Indian Railways trains, along with bus travel times from live traffic in 10 of the largest Indian cities. Users will also see mixed-mode commuting suggestions, which combines auto-rickshaw and public transport.


5. Xiaomi launches World Cup Edition Mi power bank in India - Xiaomi has launched back to back devices in the past few days like Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro and it looks like smartphones is not the only segment that they are paying attention to. In the spirit of celebrating the ongoing Cricket World Cup season, the Chinese tech company has now come up with the World Cup Edition power bank.
